Is church really necessary?

Hebrews 10: 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.

Romans 12:4-5 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ's body. We are many parts of one body, and we belong to each other.

And...Jesus went to church....

Luke 4:16 When He came to the village of Nazareth, His boyhood home, He went as usual to the synagogue in the Sabbath and stood to read the Scriptures.

Did you catch the as usual part?

  1. Hello,
The word 'church' means congregation, as the word 'synagogue' means assembly, and Jesus said 'Where two or three are gathered in my name there I am in the midst of them'. Two thousand years ago believers met together in houses, the church buildings these days are denominational buildings. Wherever christians meet, the main thing is that the people meet in Jesus' name.

    1. I absolutely agree with you. When I think of the word "church" I don't think of four walls and a roof. I think of the body of Christ. We are the church. I hope every child of Christ takes advantage of congregating in the name of Jesus! Thank you for commenting!
